Feature Request: User-defined Threshold Zones

I am a satisfied user of the Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2 and would like to submit a feature request that could improve navigation reliability and reduce unnecessary wear on the robot.

In my home, several chairs have a metal frame with a horizontal bar located at floor level. The robot detects these bars as obstacles that it might be able to climb over and repeatedly attempts to cross them. However, these bars are not actual thresholds and there is enough free space around the chairs for the robot to navigate around them.

As a result, the robot frequently:

Produces unnecessary noise due to repeated bumping and climbing attempts.
Risks becoming stuck on furniture.
May experience unnecessary wear or damage to the underside, wheels, or climbing mechanism over time.

I would like to suggest a feature that allows users to define "threshold zones" on the map. Within these zones, the robot may attempt to climb over obstacles as it does today. Outside these zones, the robot would treat similar obstacles as non-traversable and simply navigate around them whenever possible.

This could provide several benefits:

Reduced noise and disturbance while the robot is cleaning.
Fewer situations where the robot becomes stuck.
Reduced risk of damage or wear caused by unnecessary climbing attempts.
More predictable and efficient navigation in homes with furniture that includes low horizontal bars or similar structures.

Thank you for considering this suggestion. I believe this feature could improve the user experience for many customers with similar furniture layouts.

Hello,

From the image, we can see that your chair is black. The robot's obstacle avoidance sensor uses infrared sensing. Light shining on an object will reflect off it, and black objects can absorb light. Therefore, collisions may occur with highly reflective or dark-colored objects. For areas with black furniture, we suggest setting up restricted zones, or placing the chair in an area the robot cannot reach during cleaning.

Regarding your suggestion to add "threshold zones," there is a similar function in the map editor, namely "Add Threshold." However, unlike your description, the robot will increase its obstacle crossing options for locations with added thresholds. It will also attempt to cross other similar threshold obstacles, and cannot be considered impassable (to set it as impassable, you would need to create a restricted area). We will record your suggestion and forward it to the technical team to improve the robot's obstacle crossing options.

Thank you for your attention and suggestions regarding our product.
